Horn of Africa: shelter, food and… education

80% of the population in the refugee camps in Ethiopia (the majority Somalis fleeing the crisis that is hitting their country), are under 18 years of age. In the face of a humanitarian crisis of these dimensions, entering a school routine means to the children having two guaranteed meals a day and a safe place to stay and learn. [8Sept] Putting a human face to our cooperation
Last 8th of September, ended the Cooperation Week. We, from Entreculturas, would like to contribute on this date taking up the figure of the international volunteering and its contribution to a more humanized and humanizing cooperation. In 1991, the International Volunteering Padre Arrupe (VOLPA) was born, inspire by his personality and his inter culture life experience. Since that date, more than 600 people have had a long term volunteering experience in impoverished country's local communities. Read+

The booklet gives a breakdown of the most important issues on which JRS advocacy is focused and provides concrete examples of concerns and positive outcomes of this work.
