The report, entitled Sustainability and equity: a better future for all, highlights that, to achieve environmental sustainability in a fairer and more efficient manner, it is necessary to approach together the deep inequalities between nations and within them, especially the ones related to access to basic services like health and education. In this sense, this is highly interesting material for the work we carry out at Entreculturas. The latest advances that have achieved that 40 million children more are schooled are in danger of being set back unless new resources are made available. The more developed countries invest 9% of their national budgets on their own education, while - of the already meagre budgets destined to Development Official Aid -, only 4% is destined to Basic Education.Faced with this reality, the Spanish Coalition for the Education World Campaign launches the document “Let’s build the future: funding quality education“, that attempts to raise awareness to the inescapable need to carry on raising funds, even in the context of the global financial crisis, to continue guaranteeing the educational work that many developing countries are doing.
