One of the worst humanitarian crises |  | The drought currently affecting East Africa is generating a humanitarian disaster of spectacular dimensions. The refugee camps are saturated and exceed vastly their hosting capacities, meanwhile thousands of new affected people arrive daily asking for help. More than 500 people in Somalia have already died of malnutrition. In the midst of one of the worst humanitarian crises in recent times affecting the Horn of Africa, the Jesuit Refugee Service has announced plans to step up ongoing work for Somalis in Ethiopia and Kenya, and establish new services in the former. Read+ | | | |  | | | | Cuba, Haiti and Amazonia, key points for the Jesuit’s social action | | | La Habana (Cuba) hosted at the end of June the annual encounter of the Jesuit Social Sector in Latin America (CPAL). Entreculturas and the Fe y Alegria International Federation were invited to participate in this meeting at which a common agenda for the coming years centred on supporting the apostolic needs in Cuba, Haiti y la Amazonia was fixed. In this occasion, a dozen people, workers from different business that collaborate with our organization, will travel to a Fe y Alegría project in Latin America. This initiative, of corporate volunteering, permits bringing close different realities and mutually interchanges of knowledge and professional skills.
