Rural Network of Schools in Peru: a project of the Felipe López Azcúnaga Fund
The Felipe López Azcúnaga Fund arose from the desire to maintain the memory of Felipe in the lives of many family members and friends through solidarity with the most vulnerable people, so that, thanks to education, they may have more opportunities for the future.
The Fund was created in 2018 in order to support the Fe y Alegría Rural Network of Schools in Peru (specifically, in the district of Tambogrande, department of Piura). The initiative is managed by Entreculturas, an NGO promoted by the Jesuits, and Fe y Alegría, a popular education network founded in 1955 that serves more than 1.5 million people in 22 countries.
The proposal for this year 2023 is focused on continuing to improve connectivity to the schools of the Rural Network in the district of Tambogrande, through the implementation with equipment, tower window and base station in the Palominos Village. This will improve the education of the approximately 800 children who study there.
Educational conditions in the classroom will also be improved through the acquisition of school furniture and the implementation of productive projects for school bio-gardens, raising small animals and making food products that will help schoolchildren develop new skills.
