San Juan Alotenango<\/strong> is a municipality in the department of Sacatep\u00e9quez, in the central region of Guatemala. It is a municipality with about 19,000 inhabitants, most of whom are of Kakchiquel Mayan descent and live in rural areas, where access to basic services in the villages is limited<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project “Inclusive quality education in Alotenango, Guatemala”.<\/strong> intends improve the conditions of the students attending the “Semillas de Fe” educational center.<\/strong>“The school was born from a community effort and has been growing by receiving children that other schools in the area did not receive, either because they had a disability or because they were over age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fe y Alegr\u00eda<\/strong> meets her when she goes to the area to support the population affected by the eruption of the Volc\u00e1n de Fuego in 2018<\/strong>. It is currently part of the Fe y Alegr\u00eda School Network<\/strong>, which ensures that its teachers receive a salary from the Ministry of Education (they used to work ad honorem).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
