Many personalities of civil society organizations, Human Rights and the Itinerant Team ( institutional project, supported by Entreculturas in defense of the rights and development promotion of the native populations of the Amazon) have issued a statement expressing their concern over the turning of events in Sierra del Perijá and in general with the lack of consideration for the interests of native communities by the Republic of Venezuela.

They have directed a letter to the President of Venezuela, Hugo Chávez, requesting consideration in the demands of the social organizations supporting the population of Yukpa and in general to protect the rights of the native populations of Venezuela.
