Mobilize against poverty: One WorldWeek against poverty (13-19 Ocotber)

The disappointment after the recent FAO and G-8 meetings where hardly any agreements have been reached, increases the need to mobilize in order to demand international leaders urgent and efficient measures for a determined fight against poverty which this year has left 50 million more people hungry. In addition, next September 25 the Millennium Development Objectives will be revised in New York which will most probable produce results to justify mobilization.

We therefore encourage you to participate in the One world Week against poverty (13-19 October), under the slogan "Stand up against poverty: more action, less words" will end with a day of demonstrations throughout Spain.

In order to make i tan annual referent of fight against poverty, your implication in activities is very important. Between us all we can increase the 350 activities held last year and the number of Spanish locations, 53, that mobilized against poverty in 2007.

This is part of an international mobilization, Global Call to Action against Poverty, GCAP, which will be carried out in more than 100 countries on October 17, the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.
