Entreculturas with the internally displaced in Kitale, Kenya
Entreculturas could not remain unmoved at the sight of the 600.000 displaced which have been provoked by the internal conflicts that extend throughout Kenya from the date of the General elections held in December 2007. Thousands of people have been forced to abandon their homes and nowadays do not have the minimum to survive. It is essential to start a change of focus in the education policy centred in quality education “as the right of all individuals and as a responsibility of all society as a way to recover education as a public good.” In the framework of the campaign Commitment with education, this popular education movement has launched several documents which contain a number of thoughts and proposals for the dialogue with other organizations, governments, education communities and society in general in favour if this purpose.
