And who is Jon Cortina?

Father Jon Cortina is a Jesuit who was born in Bilbao on the December 8, 1934 and acquired Salvadorian citizenship, a country in which he lived for 55 years up to his death in 2005. Jon Cortina is well known for his long work against injustice and for denouncing the breach of human rights in El Salvador and Central America and the work for finding disappeared children during the war in El Salvador through the Pro Busqueda Association, founded by him in 1994.He was part of a generation of Jesuits such as Ellacuria, Montes, Sopranos, Baró who marked the history of El Salvador.

An association of families from El Salvador that have suffered and in many cases still suffer the disappearance of their children caused by the civil war of El Salvador between 19880-1991.
