Our colleague, María Luisa Caparrós Spá, has attended, through the campaign Move for Equality, It´s fair, the Forum of Beijing + 15, held in New York form March 1 to 12, at the United Nations where several civil society organizations have joined efforts on government promoted gender equality. Reconstruction continues in Haiti two months after the earthquake

Two months after the earthquake, Haiti struggles to survive. Our local partners on the field, the Jesuit Refugee and Migrant Service and the Popular Education Movement, Fe y Alegría, are combining their work of helping individuals and overall proposals. On their last meeting they have worked for consensus on a document to present at the Donors Conference which will be held in New York next March 31. Leer+

Hundreds of dead and 2 million affected by the earthquake in Chile

On the dawn of Saturday, February 27, the earth shook with force in Chile. An earthquake of 8.8 in the Ritcher scale, shook the country, leaving hundreds of dead and more than 2 million badly affected. On February 12, The International Red Hand Day to Stop the Use of Child Soldiers , Entreculturas focuses its attention on the complex reality of Colombia, a country that although with no official armed conflict, the level of violence and the number of displaced persons is one of the highest in the world. Entreculturas works in Colombia in order to promote the strength of a population that has not lost hope and believes in education as the road to peace. Leer+

Entreculturas and its local partners in Haiti, tireless in their work

Entreculturas, together with the JRMS Dominican, works around the clock to help thousands of people affected by the earthquake. More than 50.000 have received the food distributed by the different commissions working between Dominican Republic and Puerto Principe in an initial emergency phase which will be continued later by the reconstruction of the education system.
